Maria Yamashevskaya's story about two mischievous cats, Zanzibar and Punsh, who defended the owner's summer cottage from uninvited guests, was released in March 2023 by Vakosha Publishing. The children's artist and illustrator Anna Demchenko worked with the author on the story. Soon after its release, the book became a bestseller on Labirint among adventures and detectives, and in April it was presented at the Non/fiction 2023 spring fair in the Gostiny Dvor, where it made it to the children's top list.

The author gave a short interview to a young book blogger and talked about how the idea of the book was born, what books modern children can read, and what she is currently working on. Maria Yamashevskaya also revealed the secret of the second part of Zanzibar and Punsh's adventures. In the new book, the cats move to the city and encounter blatant pigeons, Oleynikovs’ strange neighbour, and his corgi dog.

A total of eighty books made it to the children's top list, both fiction and non-fiction, from various publishers and authors, including "Let's Go to the Theater!" by Irina Ivannikova, "Freken Steel - Thunder of Bandits" by Jan Eckholm, "Little Cap and the People from Under the Hill" by Grigory Kruzhkov, and "My Money, Your Money" by Mike Schafer.
